A Lifetime of Service

Elected to the Anaheim City Council November 2004, re-elected in 2008
• Led the effort to develop and promote the formation of the Anaheim Family Justice Center
           Nationally recognized “one stop shop” providing service and prevention for victims of family crimes:            including domestic violence, child abuse, sexual assault and elder abuse.
• Led the effort to adopt Anaheim’s Affordable Housing Strategic Plan
          Creates greater than 2500 new affordable housing units over an eight year period.
          The plan provides quality, newly constructed affordable housing for families.
• Advocated for the Anaheim link to the California High Speed Rail and development of the Anaheim   Regional Transportation Intermodal Center (ARTIC)
           Brings High Speed Rail transportation to Orange County, creates thousands of jobs, and brings            increased business to Orange County.
• Instrumental in creating the Anaheim Performing Arts Committee
• Serves as a member of the Fire Training Joint Powers Authority
• Co-created new Anaheim Sister Cities Commission

Founder and Executive Director of The Eli Home for Abused Children
• Founded in 1983
• Provides Shelter and child abuse prevention programs for abused children and their mothers
• U.S. Presidential Awards: The 338th Point of Light Award from former President George Bush, and a Presidential Citation from former President Bill Clinton
